Barbara Bechtel and Gardanne Glass Challenge reveal...

I'll start with showing what I did with Barbara's beads first...

I knew I wanted to make earrings with the 2 leaf charms she sent but I then I thought maybe that was too easy and obvious so made earrings anyways except...

I mismatched them in a sortofmatchingstillgoestogetherandisfun kinda way :)

even when I don't feel like wearing a big necklace or I'm in one of those moods where wearing a bracelet bothers me or seems to get in my way, earrings are always my go to choice. They're just fun to wear, right! So I thought "ok I'm ganna make these even more fun with a little boho kick to them"...

The green polymer clay beads I got from another artist in a swap last year but I cannot remember who made them! I know I have it written down somewhere though but I do so many swaps it's hard to keep track. I need a better system. I thought they went perfect with Barbara's beads.

I started with the key focal and knew I wanted to  somehow use a bit of some green sari silk I had left over from another design. I used an antiqued silver keyhole plate as part of the clasp since it seemed to fit the theme, wire wrapped everything with some chain and viola!

btw, I seriously am in LOVE with these faceted beads...

Now here's what I did with my Gardanne Glass balled headpins ...

I really wanted them to be the focal. I really wanted another pair of fun, organic-ish, boho-ish looking earrings but still a little different and non-traditional...

I played around with them a bit, curly cuing the end bits and then wired up a pair of my lampwork glass fluted spacers in a sagey green color.

The colors in both challenges are stunning and I had a blast working with these beads and head pins. You can find both of these wonderful artist's and their goodies on etsy at:

and be sure to hop over to see what everyone else who participated created with these same beads:

and

and also check out what the designers who participated in the head pins challenge created by hopping on over to Lorelei's blog for the blog list.

A big thank you to Lori and Lorelei for hosting these challenge/hops! I had so much fun!

great job on the coordinating earings(that's what I always call that kind of a pair!) solid work across the board w/ all the pieces for that matter, nice job.

Great idea to dangle another bead inside that wire loop!
Thank you so much for participating!
Wow! You did an awesome job with color selection!!!! I never would have thought to pair those colors together...my mind seems to be so limited! Those earrings with Anne's head pins are the coolest design...really love those! Great job!

Turquoise and Sage Green, another great color combination! I love the faceted beads too. Your wire wrapping on the Gardanne Glass balled head pins is really creative. I like the way you combined the challenges. ;)

Wonderful job on both challenges. I really like the paring of the light green with Barbara's beads. The sari ribbon gives the necklace such a nice touch. The headpins made such wonderful earrings. I love how you connected them to the earwires. All the curly cues are so fun!

Oh Marianna! I love that you flipped around the charms! Kudos for the bravery! and I am currently so in love with mismatchy earrings! That shock of chartreuse ribbon is just lovely and really helps boost the color oomph!

Thanks for participating! I love the way you used the glass headpins with the loop and dangle inside!

Very cool shape of those glass headpins. But my favorite is the fact that you added a keyhole to the necklace. So clever! I love what you did and all the colors are so soft and soothing.
Enjoy the day!

I think I have to go with everyone else, all of the pieces are stunning, but the Gardanne earrings are the winner! There's just something about that swirl that really captures the eye. I love the color choices you made with the Cup of Bead Soup. Truly some wonderful pieces!

So sorry for the delay, I was out of town!

I love the color combination -- and that key plate is SO cool and just the right size, too. The Gardanne earrings would go perfectly with the set, too.

Thanks so much for participating in the headpin challenge. I am impressed with all the different ways the participants have used the wire. The only thing that popped into my mind was tendrils, but obviously there are other options.
