Fresh from the Kiln and some Macro lovin'...

The weekend totally flew by. I got wrapped up in all sorts of things and before I knew it it was Monday. I even had to miss my I heart Macro post for this week but here's a few beady macro's of what I've been working on...There's even more still in the kiln and out of the kiln that need to be cleaned up and photographed still. I'm finally caught up on orders and starting on the next round. LOVE being caught up, leaves more time to play around with new things...

This is the fire starting bead. The bead I was so engrossed in I wasn't paying any attention to the fact that the wooden handle on my graphite marver was a blazin'...even after I did notice I figured it would put itself out eventually, everything is tiled  in the studio so I chose to save the bead! :) I'm so glad I did because I totally love the way it turned out. The colors are insanely gorgeous and the size and feel of the bead is fab.

I was contacted by Vente from Vintage Beads from Europe who wanted to send me over a nice stash of vintage goodies to play around with, have a look...I can't wait to play around and create some things with these goodies. I love all the stampings and faceted lucite especially and I'm still mulling around ideas for all the great flower beads. I'll have some things made up to show soon in the mean time swing on over to www.vintagebeads.eu and have a look at all the terrific beads they have to offer...

glass headpins...still obsessed, still LOVE making them...these are a rich brown sparkly transparent base with speckled raku totally reminding me of chocolates and totally yummy!

yum...

again with the chocolate transparent base but this time with turquoise specks and leaf shapes...

I LOVE the leafs...perfect for fall!

These are all making their way over to my etsy shop shortly...hopefully tonight after the kiddos are tucked up in bed and if this headache will just finally go away, blah! Have a great evening!

Your "fire starting" bead is a beauty...now that is what I call concentration....so intent on the bead making you don't notice fire..I had a little laugh at that cos I totally understand it!!

Gorgeous beads! And the headpins, too. You can still link up to Macro through, I think, this Saturday.
