Shorty shorts...

I'm not talking about daisy dukes, I'm talking about the little glass nubs I'm left with when I can no longer melt down any further on a rod of glass without burning off my finger prints (which I've done on more than 1 or 2 or 3 occasions.) I have bowls, jars and big piles on my work table of glass shorts. I'll have to share a pic someday because it's pounds and pounds of glass that I hate to waste.

Occasionally I'll fuse them together to make longer, usable rods of glass but for the most part they're just piling up. A few days ago I was playing around at the torch and grabbed for a short to use in a pinch because I couldn't reach the color I needed and I sort of lost control...but it was a good thing, a fun thing. A basic long base of what was going to be a focal bead that I had attached the short to and just let it do it's own thing. Turned into a fun, noodle art in glass type focal which led to me making more and more of them in different shapes and colors.

The different shorts just sort of melt in the flame and wiggle and worm their way around into some pretty cool shapes and knots, have a look...

Fun right?! I have a few other ones I'll have up soon...

My teeny tiny obsession with red and turquoise continues in these glass headpins...speaking of headpins, I just got word that several of my glass headpins will be featured in a project and supply section of BeadStyle Magazine!!!! WAHOOOO!! I'm so excited, you have no idea! :) I'm not sure what issue yet but I'll be sure to let you know. In the mean time these headpins are heading to my Etsy shop.

Oh! and also go check out what LampworkDiva Cindy is doing with some of her shorts HERE! How cool is that?!
