We bought ourselves a late Christmas present...

As of last Friday before New Years Eve we are pround homeowners (again for the 4th time) of a new house! It's a bit of a confusing story really but I'll give it whirl for those of you are interested. Many of you who visit often will remember that my parents are building their dream house. They have been planning this house and wanting to build this house for years and years and finally they did and it's just about done. So we decided to buy their house instead of having them sell it to a stranger! I'm really excited about it because before this my parents will have never moved before in their lives except when they came over from Italy. The house we bought is the house they built and planned and saved for and build straight away and it's only 27 years old and they have redone and done and updated ever inch of it like a handful of times over the years to keep it updated and it's gorgeous and Joe's excited to have all the extra room and I'm excited because it's my home! I was born there and spent the first 20+ years of my life there before I got married and so I feel like I'm just moving back home lol! Well the story doesnt' end there! My sister (and hubby and son) bought our house! So this past Friday we all closed escrow on our new and old homes lol! We spent the entire weekend at our new house helping my parents pack and clear out their basement and rec room so now we only have 4 more levels to go, yikes! but actually it's been fun because we already started packing weeks ago and so we were able to bring over alot of our stuff already. My parents are starting with all their storage and seasonal stuff and making their way up as are we so it's easier that way. With all of us kids having moved out years ago (except for my brother) there is plenty of rooms for us to move right off the bat and they are two kitchens on up and one on a lower level for entertaining which is used more often so we went a head and packed up the upstairs kitchen and moved all of that so it's totaly empty so I'm going to be able to just move my kitchen right over so that's going to be a relief! And they primarily use the family room but we plan to use the living room more so we'll be moving their furniture out of there soon too so that will be another easy room moved. It's all coming together sooooo fast! It's nutty but since my sister has to be out of her house because of her buyers by the first of the month that will give us the next 3 weeks at the most for us to move before my sister moves here! So it's going to be a really busy and crazy next couple of weeks for us but very exciting! In beadier news I think I may have another set and some specials this week! woohoo! stay tuned!

Wowsers!!!! Congrats on all the house buying/selling/etc! That is so funny how you and your family are all trading houses. :) I can't wait to upgrade one day and get a bigger house so I can have my entire family and all of my in-laws over for holidys and such. Good luck with moving and everything!!! January will be a totally insane month for you! :)

Thanks Julie! That's what I'm looking forward to too well that and the walk in closet lol! It'll be nice to have everyone over at the same time or having friends and family from out of town have stay too! I like the packing but I don't like the moving part and then I like the unpacking and discovering " Wow! I never knew I had that!" that's always fun lol!
